The Cranberry Township Community Park is located off Ernie Mashuda Drive and offers a variety of athletic facilities to residents of the Cranberry Twp PA area. The park is home to two sand volleyball courts, five lighted baseball, football, and soccer fields, as well as a basketball court and kids’ castle playground. There is also an amphitheater at the park, where special events are held throughout the year.
Visitors can find several parks in the area, as well as a number of local businesses. The township offers a warm connection to residents through its community outreach program, “Cooper Up Cranberry.” This program provides parents with activities and videos for their children to enjoy. A number of other community outreach programs also benefit residents of Cranberry Township, including the Cooper Up Cranberry program. The program aims to promote a healthier lifestyle among the residents of the township and is geared toward kids in their early childhood.
Dog owners can enjoy walking their dogs in the town’s dog parks. There are also fenced areas for dogs. The Commons at Thorn Hill on the east side of the Turnpike is one such dog park. Leashed dogs can also enjoy the paved walking trail loop at this park. There are also athletic fields and a Disc Golf Course located in North Boundary Park. For those looking for a fun place to play, there is a kids castle in the community park. The new structure, which replaced the old Playtime Palace, was dedicated in late September of 2013. Nearly 300 volunteers contributed to the construction, while public works personnel and the project contractor worked closely with the contractors. The park was built with the help of the Township Municipal Government and Community Chest, which combined to raise more than $500,000 for the project.
If you’re an avid horseback rider, you can also visit the Cranberry Acres Equestrian Center. Located near Lake Shawnee, this horse stable offers shelter for equestrians. Located off HWY 107, Friendship Field/Furnace Brook Farm is 15.15 acres of land accessible from Cherry St and Walter Ashe Road. The center is staffed around the clock, so you can expect 24/7 care for your horses.
The township is also home to a full-time police force and volunteer fire department supported by a dedicated property tax. A comprehensive emergency services organization coordinates emergency services and provides fresh water and wastewater treatment. Residents and property owners contribute over a million dollars annually for the upkeep of these resources.
