Pittsburgh’s #1 Paintless Dent Repair Year In Review

Well, here we are at the start of 2024!  Dent Repair Now has some really big things in store for this year that we can’t wait to tell you about!

In January of 2023, we were finishing up the last few hail repairs from the prior year.  That storm netted a ton of repair time for all of our technicians and got the year of to a great start!  We repaired a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek that had damage to the hood and roof that the insurance adjuster wasn’t convinced could be repaired with paintless dent repair.  We were able to repair both panels!  Not only did we have a new customer for life, but we also gained another insurance agents confidence that when you choose the right technicians, paintless dent repair is a better option for repair.

February is usually a pretty slow month for us.  Weather is usually cold and snowy, people aren’t out washing their cars and seeing any dents or dings.  We did have a memorable Hyundai Palisade in for repair.  That vehicle had damage to the liftgate which we were able to completely repair for our customer in just one day.  Our owner, Gene Fetty “The Dent Guy” spent much of February traveling to body shops working on repairs.  He did work for Berardinelli’s Garage in Cokeburg, Pa.  Worked on a couple vehicles with hail damage at Chuck’s Collision in Waynesburg, Pa.    Gene also did an in-house glue pull training class with a couple of body shop guys from up North.

March and April were pretty uneventful.  We fixed a crazy number of dings on cars.  When the weather starts to break, one sunny day and everyone is out getting their car washed, then the can see all manner of damage on their vehicles that was previously hidden by the dirt and snow.  We did have one particular nice young lady with a 2022 Honda Civic stop in right after having her car washed.  One of the brushes or spinners dropped down on her hood leaving a quarter sized dent right on her hood.  We were able to fix it, and the car wash paid for her repair.  We were able to help turn her bad day into a much better one!

In May, we had an opportunity to repair a 2020 Rolls Royce Wraith.  Check out the video where Dave repairs the damage on the quarter panel.

Our customer was really pleased with the repair and although he most likely hopes he never needs us again, he definitely knows who to call if he does!

June is the time year when we start getting calls about dents in motorcycle tanks and last year was no exception.  Gene worked on a beautiful blue Honda tank that was pretty tricky.  Dave worked on a couple Harley tanks and made some bike enthusiast customers beyond happy!  We do tank repair for Steel City Harley-Davidson in Washington, Pa throughout the year, and if you accidentally dent your motorcycle tank, give us a call and see if your damage is a candidate for paintless dent repair!

July was the month of Summer Vacations!!  In addition to that, it seemed that it was the month of damaged Teslas and Ram trucks!!  First, we had David with his Tesla Model 3.  This quarter panel was pretty tricky.  Access is definitely obstructed, and we have to be very careful with Electric cars.  Some repairs require powering down and disconnecting power sources before we get in there to start pushing.  The second Tesla repair that earns being mentioned was Brent’s Tesla.  He had the charging port installed in his garage, where he parked his Dodge Challenger on the other side.  It was really cramped to pull in the Tesla in next to it and have space to plug it in.  This was the result:

Then we had the Battle of the Rams…. We provided “perfect” repairs, “make my dent go away repairs”, and “we’ll give it heck!” repairs.  If the damage is a candidate for paintless dent repair, I’d say close to 97% of the time we can repair the panel and give our customer a bill.  Roughly 3% of the time we give it all we can and it just doesn’t go the way we want.  Most times, there is no charge. (We do charge for any extensive tear down, removing and reinstalling parts like glass windows, taillights, or door panels).

August was a crazy month for sure!!  On August 12, 2023 our Washington and surrounding area were hit with a massive hail storm and a twister! Gene and MeLissa went to the worst hit areas to assess the damage and put the word out that we were here to help get the damaged vehicles back on the road!

We spent the next two months super busy!  Ordering parts, repairing dents, dealing with insurance companies, and making sure our clients we kept up to date on all progress.  It is a hussle that we all love and thrive on!!

We are wrapping up the year with two big announcements!  Gene and MeLissa are leveling up in the automotive industry with the live launch of Automotive Appearance Institute!  It has been a dream of theirs and finally, their hard work and dedication has paid off!  You can check out the website   autoappearanceinstitute.com.  AAI offers an online, in-person, or a hybrid educational platform for anyone in the automotive trade space.   Our second big announcement, WE ARE MOVING!  We have loved being in Robinson and built a presence over the years, but as they say, all good things must come to an end.  This was not our decision, but the county is working on a project to improve the area, and with that, comes change.  We welcome this as the community will be better served through the Campbells Run Project.  That being said, we have not signed on the dotted line for a new space as there are so many boxes to check when moving facilities.  Most likely this will occur sometime in February/March of 2024, and we will certainly make sure all of our customers, both repeat and new will be aware of our relocation.
