Car cruises, also known as car meets or car shows, are events where car enthusiasts gather to showcase their vehicles, socialize with other enthusiasts, and appreciate various types of automobiles. These events often involve driving in a convoy or parking in designated areas to display the cars. Car cruises can be organized by clubs, communities, or simply as informal gatherings.

Here are some key points about car cruises:

  1. Showcasing Vehicles: Car cruises provide a platform for car owners to display their vehicles to fellow enthusiasts and the general public. Participants often take pride in their cars, which may range from classic and vintage models to modern sports cars, custom builds, or specialty vehicles.
  2. Socializing and Networking: Car cruises are a great opportunity for car enthusiasts to connect with like-minded individuals, exchange knowledge, and discuss their shared passion for automobiles. It’s a chance to learn about different car models, modifications, and techniques from fellow enthusiasts.
  3. Appreciating Automotive Culture: Car cruises celebrate the rich history and diverse culture of automobiles. They allow participants and spectators to admire the design, craftsmanship, and engineering behind different car models. These events often attract a wide range of vehicles, including classic cars, muscle cars, hot rods, exotics, tuners, and more.
  4. Cruising and Convoy Drives: In some car cruises, participants take part in organized drives or cruises along scenic routes or designated streets. Cruising in a convoy allows enthusiasts to enjoy the thrill of driving together, showcasing their vehicles to the public, and creating an impressive display of automotive diversity.
  5. Spectators and Public Engagement: Car cruises often attract spectators who come to see the displayed vehicles and interact with car owners. It’s an opportunity for car enthusiasts to engage with the public, answer questions, and share their knowledge about the cars they own.
  6. Competitive Events: Some car cruises include competitive elements, such as car competitions, awards, or prizes. These events may involve judging criteria such as car condition, customization, paintwork, engine modifications, or overall presentation. Competitions can add an extra level of excitement and recognition to the event.
  7. Safety and Respect: It’s important to note that car cruises should prioritize safety and respect for local traffic laws. Organizers often establish guidelines and rules to ensure the smooth flow of the event and to maintain a positive image of car enthusiasts in the community.

Car cruises provide a platform for car enthusiasts to share their passion, display their vehicles, and connect with others who appreciate automotive culture. These events often foster a sense of community and camaraderie among car enthusiasts and can be a fun and enjoyable experience for participants and spectators alike.  If this sounds like fun to you, read on!!

Steel City Cars N’at is the Pittsburgh areas newest car community event.  Organizer Angelo Naccarato has rekindled interest in the former South Hills Cars and Coffee, under the name Steel City Cars N’at. Steel City Cars ‘N at is located in SouthPointe Towne Center in Canonsburg.  The address is 1900 Main Street, Canonsburg Pa 15317.  It’s behind the All-Star Bar and Grill.  While you’re there, don’t forget to check out LaBella Bean for some delicious coffee, sandwiches or pastries!

The first car show took place on April 23, 2023, and had a huge turnout!  There were classic Chevys and Fords.  Porsches, old and new.  The second event took place on Saturday, May 6, 2023. There were some really sharp cars to look at and great car enthusiasts to talk to!  One memorable car was an older Volkswagen Beetle Convertible that brought two special ride along guests with them!  We didn’t get any pictures of that, so if you did, we’d love to see them!  You can email them to info@dentrepairnow.com.  Honorable mentions from the first 2 weeks include this 1970 Dodge Super Bee

This 1969 Pontiac GTO JUDGE

This beautiful shade of blue on a 1960’s Chevrolet Camaro…

and my favorite – the 1971 Chevy Impala Coupe!

You can see newer cars like this Dodge Viper

and look at the color on this BMW!

Here’s another Viper and a Porche Carrera GT

Those are some SWEET rides!  You can also expect to see Ferrari, Alpha Romeo, Lamborghini, and anything and everything in between!  It’s had a great start to the year, and we expect it to continue to grow!  If you have a vehicle that you would like to show, you can read the full list of rules here, but two main rules are:

“Bi-weekly meets are participation events – To be admitted into the main lot, you’ll need a unique vehicle of some sort. A mini-van does not count – unless you swapped in a blown V8 – then we want your autograph. If you don’t have a vehicle to ‘show’, you can still attend but use a spectator lot.

     Vehicle Requirements:

Unique, clean, respectable – not in progress……Something that makes a person look twice.  Good rule to live by:  If you aren’t willing to pick up your significant other in it, probably a good idea to leave it at home.”
